Rollercoaster of Behaviors

Hey there, 5B.
I chatted with Mrs. McCabe and the other 5th grade teachers today after you were dismissed. We talked about all sorts of things. The most exciting topic was that ALL of the 5th grades will be getting to celebrate their 100 Cadet Pride slips together! We had a great time planning for the day and time we will enjoy an extra recess and ice cream treats! We have something planned for this week! Yippee!!

The not-so-fun topic was about behavior we saw today that was not supporting the Cadet Pride we've been working on. We discussed that 5B needs a bit more work after today's classes. Remember, just because you show how to be respectful once, doesn't mean you're done. Showing Cadet Pride is being RESPECTFUL by listening instead of talking, RESPONSIBLE by getting work done, CARING by treating others in a friendly way and TRUSTWORTHY even when an adult is not looking. Unfortunately, we saw students making mistakes in all of these areas today. I know this class is filled with respectful, friendly and responsible students. We need to work on showing this ALL of the time, though. Don't worry, I'll do my best to remind you.

I know you are all pretty cool kiddos because I was able to read through all of the Parent Homework from last week (Million Words or Less). We have some fun, sweet, helpful, active, and creative students in our room. Let's work on showing our very best sides!

A couple of reminders for this week...
Tomorrow (Tuesday): Band Practice comes out of Math classes
Wednesday: Library comes out of Sci./SS classes
Friday: Special Recess and Ice Cream Planned!!

I'll know you checked the blog tonight if you can put together a list of 5 "jobs" students should be doing during the school day. Write this in your planner or another piece of paper. Show it to me when I come around and check planners! Can't wait to see you prove what you know!!

Stay cool...

Mrs. Sorenson
