Are You Ready for THIS WEEK??????

YIKES!!  Do you know all of what we have PLANNED for this week????  Check out this CRAZY schedule!

Monday:  Global School Play Day -
Bring all sorts of games and activities that do NOT require batteries!  Board games, building materials, fort-making supplies, cars, crafts, etc. This should be SUCH a great day of social interaction!

Tuesday:  MAPs Testing (Reading part)
Wednesday:  MAPs Testing (Math part)
These pictures were from the Fall's MAPs testing!
You can bring a dry snack to have before or during testing to keep yourself awake and working 100% through it!  Your FAST testing was EXCELLENT!  Let's see the same amount of effort and progress!

Thursday:
Um... Normal??  Um???  What is THAT?!

Friday:  First D.A.R.E. class
You'll be in writing class this week when Deputy Hollenbeck leads the class.  This is a class you're in for about 10 weeks, and when you pass, there is a graduation ceremony!

Oh, and don't forget about THIS...

Click HERE to learn about WINTER STORM KAYLA's plans! HOLY GUACAMOLE!

So.. as you can SEE, everything is UP IN the AIR as far as what may ACTUALLY happen this week!  Be ready for ANYTHING!

I'll know you checked the blog and are ready for the WACKY schedule, if you check out the picture below.  Which one of our 5B classmates did Isaiah hang out with on Sunday sledding, snowboarding and getting drenched in the snow?  Show me you know that answer by giving that student a gentle pat on the back on Monday morning!  I'll be watching to see who gives this 5B family member the greeting:)

First Full Day... It showed! Tired in the afternoon!

We ACTUALLY had a normal day today of switching, specials classes, band, and reading!  Whoa!  So WEIRD!

Fantastic 5 got the special opportunity of meeting their digital pen pals!  Their buddies are from ALL the way ACROSS TOWN!  Yep!  Mrs. Rogne and the 5th graders at Notre Dame met with us using Appear.in (like Skype) today!  Everyone seemed a little shy on the first meet and greet!

But by the end, Fantastic 5 was a bit more comfortable!

In reading class, some 5B darlings seemed to struggle with attention, focus and energy!  Please get some sleep tonight, everyone.  Today was our FIRST full day of school, and you could tell it was like a Monday for us!
Hostage!  We are SOOOOOOO CLOSE!!  I think we have 3-4 pages left!  Could there be ANY possible way that something scary/nasty happens?  Or are we in the clear from Cal, Buddy and Bo?  Let's find out tomorrow morning!
Book Club Groups - Remember your assigned pages and think page!  Avalanche finished today!  It was a great discussion about how the book could have/should have ended and how the protagonist overcame the antagonist!

Hmm.. Blog proof... We haven't had a weird one in a while!  So, as you come in Thursday morning, act like you are having a very serious conversation with your hand.  Your hand can move it's "mouth" to act like it's talking and you can be having a SILENT conversation.  Keep the conversation going until I tell you and your hand to "break it up!"

Short but Productive Day!

I am SOOOOO PROUD of all of the 5B kiddos dealing with all of the testing, goofy schedules and change in routines since we've been back from Christmas break.  Your test scores are showing how much you've GROWN and learned!  So happy and proud of each and everyone of you!

We have more goofy schedules for next week.  MAPs testing will be next week!  Keep up the amazing effort and focus!

Then on Friday of NEXT week (not in 3 days), 5th graders are lucky to be participating in the D.A.R.E. program again.  This has not been offered in our district for many, many years!  Deputy Hollenbeck will be coming to 5th grade every Friday for about 10 weeks to discuss the importance of smart choices when offered something not healthy or inappropriate for you.

Today was Twitter Tuesday in the district, so of the many suggestions that 5B gave on the TodaysMeet list, Kalob and Kaydence chose to share about Tech Class and the Tagxedo Word Cloud you made.  See the Tweet I shared below.
Thanks for all of your suggestions, 5B!  I love that you are the ones
determining WHAT we should share about our days!

Don't forget BOOK CLUB READING!  Some of you looked a little bit nervous when I reminded you about the pages agreed to read for this week.  We give each other a full week to do our reading!  Don't let us down!

Today's lesson on protagonist vs antagonist went super based on what you handed in from the video.  Let's try out the new Dotstorming Site we tried out today with voting.  To prove you checked the blog, visit this Dotstorming Voting Link to place a vote on the topic I have included.  All you should do is LIKE one of the options I give.  Don't ADD an IDEA this time.

Have great nights!  We JUST might have a NORMAL day tomorrow!  Um??

Another 3 Day Weekend For You...

How did you spend it?  We'll have to find out from Ashton what the Battle of the Barn was really like since we were all so curious about it last Friday.  I know some of you had fun at the ice rink!  I saw Brian, Landen, and Elyse there one day.  I'm guessing there were some wrestling tournaments somewhere this weekend.  Also, the group of basketball girls were headed to Waterloo!  I hope that went well!  And I'm sure many of you had all sorts of other events and activities that kept you busy!

And I'm NOT trying to get your hopes up, but I'm curious if I'll see you on time tomorrow morning with this new, fresh, and slippery snow!  HOPEFULLY, we'll get a chance to have a NORMAL day, but if not, I guess I'll wish you get some extra sleep IF there's a 2-hour late start.

What's up for this week?
More FAST Testing - the Fluency part will happen TUESDAY.  So that means you can bring a SNACK and a DRINK if you want to for the afternoon activity!  You know what that is, right?!

Book Club Reading - Be sure you are keeping up with your assigned pages.  Everest Book Club, we will meet on Tuesday during ST Math time so we can touch base about your book.

Miss Cooper's Last Week - January has flown by, and Miss Cooper's last day is on Wednesday (as well as any other teachers in music and band).  We're lucky to share our learning with them!  Be sure to thank them for their time here at Crestwood and wish them well!

Fantastic 5 - You guys get a special activity on WEDNESDAY of this week!  Get ready to meet some virtual pen pals!

Blog Proof!  I'm curious how you spent your weekends! So, go to this TodaysMeet Link, and share the BEST or WORST or MOST EVENTFUL part of your weekends!  If nothing exciting happened, then just share one thing you did!  Your 5B Family (we are family) likes to know and cares about you!

Well.... I've Got the Final Answer about Sledding... Um...

Um.... Here's the answer Mrs. Grimm gave me.  I need some help translating the answer to, "Can we go sledding for our celebration?"

Here's her answer...
This is a French word that means either Yes or No.
I'll explain WHY this was the decision on Friday in class.

Use the Google Translator below to type in this word to get the answer.
Google Translator - If it doesn't do anything, be sure to click FRENCH above it.
Your blog proof will be how to PRONOUNCE this word.  In the bottom left corner, there is a speaker icon.  It will speak it out loud to you.  WHISPER how you say it to me as you come in.

Elice was lucky enough to walk into the room after school to see a familiar face from Luther!
Yep!  Mrs. Bohach stopped by our classroom so we could plan more for the next group of students she has starting in 1 1/2 weeks!  We will continue again with our connection to Luther during our reading class in the afternoon (Sorry to Mrs. Knobloch's students...)  Mrs. Bohach wants to come visit YOU GUYS in reading class next week!  She's excited to just be in our classroom, even during writing class!  We have a SUPER plan for the rest of the school year for kiddos in my reading class!
Tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Writing Boot Camp... Started Today!

Ok, so it wasn't as scary and as bad as I may have made it sound.  HOWEVER, those of you who were in it will need to show some major effort and participation skills to prove you are making progress on CORRECTLY WRITTEN SENTENCES:)

Here's blog proof for tonight...  REWRITE this incorrect sentence the CORRECT way.  This is worth DOUBLE proof 1) for doing the work 2) getting it correct!  I will tell you there are 6 mistakes to fix and correct when you rewrite it!

in december of 1955 rosa parks got on a buss to go home

Other reminders...
1) Can bring a snack AND drink for a reading activity on FRIDAY.  Yes, I said both a snack AND a drink :)

2)  No School next Monday, January 25

3)  HOMEWORK:  Book Club Reading - ALL groups except Avalanche should be ready to meet THURSDAY!

4)  Report Card Envelopes RETURNED please!  If we get them all back by FRIDAY, that's grounds for a Fun Pass... or more even!   Also, those of you who returned the envelopes on WEDNESDAY (today), stop by my table in the morning for a Cadet Dollar!  That shows great responsibility!

And this video link is just for fun!  I think we have seen it before (I can't remember if I've shared it or not).  It's just a funny video to make you laugh!

Click Here...  It's contagious!  I was laughing out loud myself!!

"I Have A Dream..."

These paper doll cut-outs are great examples of how we can live our lives in a way that shows we care about anyone, no matter the color of their skin, hair, eyes, height, weight, interests or anything else!  Those of you who chose this activity today gave us super samples to look at!  Thanks!  I'll have the activities for the rest of the week in reading class, so you are welcome to visit the sites, watch the videos or take on the History Mystery Games Wed. or Thurs. this week.

Today's FAST testing was AMAZING!  Ok, it was ridiculously LONG, but the effort and scores that came from today's testing was the AMAZING part!  So many of you showed growth of more than a FULL YEAR!  Wowsa!!!  I'm REALLY proud of all of you!

Report Cards also should have gotten to parents today, so be doing your "Mind Blowing" or "Just EXACTLY what a 5th Grader Should Be Doing" or "Well, I sometimes show this, but sometimes I don't" and/or "I'm really having a tough time with this.  I need more help or I need to try harder" comments to your families!  Be sure to have the report card envelopes signed and returned with NO REPORT CARDS in them!

Indoor recess also seemed to go well with controlled voices and great socializing!  I'm kinda like the "No iPads" for indoor recess once in awhile!  Hanging with friends is a super way to spend recess!

We have ART tomorrow, so be sure to bring your object that can be pressed into clay.  That has been reminded to us since LAST Wednesday.  Also, we have GUIDANCE class with Mrs. Halverson.  It will be her last class with you before Mrs. McCabe returns!

Finally, blog proof!  Today was really a pretty spectacular day for control, respect and Cadet Pride! Bravo, Baby Cakes!  Tomorrow will be the same or better, HOPEFULLY!  Here's your proof!  Read the words below, and whisper them into my ear as you come in Wednesday morning.  Be sure you say the exact NUMBER of them as shown below. Notice how many times you need to say it!

Oh, also... do some hand exercises tonight to prepare for
WRITING BOOT CAMP! (some of you.....)     :)  and  :(

Monday, January 18, 2016

Well... I Missed You...

Check the blog from Sunday and that will be your blog proof!

It just might be another late start tomorrow, so have your eyes and ears open to the school website, news or radio for late-starts!  I hope to see you soon!  Again, check yesterday's blog and do the blog proof for that one.  If you did it already, be sure to review it so you know what the "proof" is for tomorrow!

Stay warm!

Sunday, January 17, 2016

Ummm....Here are a few words I'm feeling....

and...
I'm thinking it's even too cold for the snowpeople we made the other day....
This the look on one of their faces today....
Too COLD OUT HERE!!!!

Ok, so I'll stop complaining, but WOWZA, it's nasty out there!  Hopefully we'll be on time for school tomorrow with how cold it's supposed to be overnight into the morning.  Jeepers creepers!  Either way, tomorrow is a VERY SPECIAL day to be together in school!  It's a day we should all feel happy to celebrate because of its importance in our history!  Anyone know what it is?   National Freezing Day?  Nope, but it could be!  National It's Almost Kody's Birthday?  True, but nope, not the day I'm talking about.  Watch the video below to find out and be able to answer the blog proof!

We will most likely be indoors for recess on Monday no matter what happens, so I've got BINGO ready, and I have a few more games available, but I DID take home Isaiah's Neo Tracks!  Sorry guys!  If there's a board/ group game YOU like from home, bring it to school for indoor times, ok?

Also, remember that Monday is our FAST Test for Reading.  This will be done in the afternoon after recess, and you CAN bring yourself and small dry snack or gum to chew during the test to stay ALERT and do your BEST!
Ok, so, your blog proof from watching the video will be to answer THESE 2 QUESTIONS:
1)  What special day will we be celebrating on Monday?
2)  What was this person's REAL NAME before changing it?

Write them down on paper to show me as you come in!  DON'T say them outLOUD or show them to others, okey dokey aritchokies?

Stay warm and safe!  Play a family game indoors, READ, WRITE your story, build a fort!

Thursday, January 14, 2016

Looking forward to Friday!

5B has had a good 3 days in a row!  Let's make our 4th day the BEST of them all.  I'll keep it WAY short tonight since it's late.

Reminders....
Mrs. Sorenson's Reading: COFFEE TALKS - book, Think Page, coffee cup and if your family wants to donate juice, that would be PEACHY:)

Mrs. Knobloch's Reading:  Finish end of story

Dream Team:  I have a surprise for this class!  You'll now get the chance to meet a class from another state like the Wonderful Wackos did.  BUT, you'll have to do a Mystery Skype in class tomorrow for writing to meet the class and find out where they are from!

Compliments!  The room looked wonderful again today!  Remind me to put in another Fun Pass!  Also, 6 of you moved up to a new % Level in ST Math today!  Super job to everyone working so hard and well on ST Math skills.  I know they get tough sometimes.  Don't give up!

Blog Proof....  Too celebrate our great week and to prove you can settle down after something GOOFY, come in the classroom and skip around singing "If You're Happy and You Know It, Clap Your Hands."  Sing through it once and go get ready for switches!  It will be goofy and kinda loud for a short bit, but I'm REALLY checking to see if people can show self-control with it to earn some Fun Passes!

Still Waiting for Final Answer...

5B,
It looks like we MAY be getting our wish of going to East Park for sledding, but we still need to wait and find out what Mrs. Grimm hears for sure.  But it sounds like it is a very good possibility!  Let's hope for the best...  Bree might even say, "That's worth praying about!"  Right, Bree?!  Hahahahaa!

I wanted to be sure EVERYONE was sure to hear/see how proud I am of the work that has been done over the past months for your Research Analyst Project!  Lots of work and effort has been put into it, and your creativity definitely was obvious in all areas!  Love, love, LOVE all you shared!  I'll need to find a way to share the commercials to EVERYONE instead of them just being in a few people's SeeSaw accounts!

FUN PASSES!  Well, I counted them up, and I'm going to give you some OPTIONS for what you think we have.  Do you think we have.....

20 Fun Passes, which means 10 are LOCKED IN?

30 Fun Passes, which means 15 are LOCKED IN?

or

15 Fun Passes, which means 7 1/2 are LOCKED IN?

SHOW ME on a piece of paper what you think is the answer. All you have to write down is how many Fun Passes we earned, not the LOCKED IN part.  I'll tell you if you're right or wrong when you show me your paper!  No matter what the case is, you've got a good start towards your goal already!

Let's keep it up!  Keep thinking about....

Have great nights!  I'm headed to The Heritage for some chicken and pizza!  Anyone want meet me there?  Isaiah would love the company!  I'll save you a bite of scotcharoo bar or some dessert pizza!  YUM!

Can We Go to East Park for Sledding and Skating?

Well, I DID get to talk to Mrs. Grimm about this question today after school.  We chatted about the HUGE GOAL of 125 Fun Passes and the amount of effort it will take to be full of Cadet Pride almost all day long EVERYDAY to get this goal met.   We talked more but.....to be continued.....later in the blog....  (Heheheheeee)

Today was not too shabby of a day!  I did not put in or take out any Fun Passes since we weren't sure of our expectations listed for how to EARN or LOSE them.  I'll finish up the list tonight, and we'll go through them as a class tomorrow.  That way all of us can decide how serious you truly are going to be.  Some of our 5B Family will struggle with "helping out the team" due to the lack of effort at times.  I know everyone is extremely caring, thoughtful, helpful, responsible and respectful.  I also know that I can trust each of you, BUT will it happen everyday?  Let's make the promise to our class, shall we?!

Today's Tech Class and lunch time were SO WONDERFUL (says Ms. Klenke and Mrs. Kalvelage).  Let's keep those types of compliments coming!

Reminders for Wednesday....
1)   Be sure to show your family the NEW Cadets Academy note about changing things up a bit.
2)  Wonderful Wackos and Dream Team can bring snacks for commercial viewing.
3)  BAND PEOPLE - Don't forget your instruments!
4)  EdPuzzle videos for Science class - must be watched before class time Wednesday.

Blog Proof...  Go back through the blog and write down the letters that I have colored. If you go in order, the colored letters make words to share more about what Mrs. Grimm told me.  Each color is for a new word.

Write down the message and show it to me in the morning as you walk in.  YES, I need to see it written down.  We'll chat more in the morning!

Thanks for a great day!  Let's have a Hip-Hip Hooray Hump Day tomorrow!

Monday, January 11, 2016

Well, well, well.....

4 days off of school.....and then 4 days on!  I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the FUN weather on Friday before it became a bit like Antarctica here Saturday through now! I know Isaiah and I had a blast building snowpeople!  It was the PERFECT snow for forts, snowpeople, sledding, snowboarding, etc.!

Last week started out so smooth, but it had a pretty rough ending.  The snow, wind and cold air has removed all of those poor choices and "ooops" type behaviors!  Let's start fresh, just like our week will!  Sound good?

The week will be short, but we have a lot to do!  If you have NOT recorded your commercial yet, plan on it for writing class!  That will be the main goal to accomplish.  Reread scripts and try to be as ready as can be with the extra days you were awarded!

The only blog proof you need to show you check it today (don't worry about last Thursday night's blog proof!) is to say IN MY EAR IN A WHISPER "I'm ready to start off FRESH!"  Then head to your spots and get ready for switching!

Have good evenings! Stay warm and have WARM clothes in case you go outside for recess.  All students will need to go outside if there is outdoor recess.  Be smart and safe about your health!  Your 5B Mama cares about your little pinkies, nose and toes!

Thursday, January 7, 2016

Yikes.... It's Past 6:30! Sorry!

Hey, All, I'm sorry!  My time got away from me tonight (that's an idiom!)

We've had a pretty good week starting off 2016.  However, today's library class did not demonstrate that for most of the class.  I feel like there were too many followers, and not enough leaders today.  Everyone gave excellent and helpful suggestions about how to make Friday positive.  Here are a lot of your ideas....

1)  Talk less
2)  Be on your iPad ONLY when you're supposed to
3)  T.H.I.N.K.
4)  Quiet in line
5)  Focus on the teacher more
6)  Be happy!
7)  Raise your hand instead of blurting
8)  Use Whole Body Listening
9)  Be on the apps that are assigned for class
10) Stay in your spot unless you need to move
11) Think about others
12) Listen better

These all came STRAIGHT from you, 5B!  There were more, but I believe I got most of the ones said because there were some repeats of T.H.I.N.K, listen better, and talk less.

Let's turn the disappointing, untrustworthy and disrespectful behaviors that happened today into a LEARNING OPPORTUNITY.  We learned today that many others were affected by being off task.  Show that you truly are part of our 5B Family (we are family) by thinking of US (a team!) instead of just me (1 person).  Blog proof tonight will be to come in Friday morning, and write YOURSELF a reminder note about something you'll do to HELP the TEAM today.  Put your name on it.  Don't tape it anywhere, because I want you to keep it with you all day.  Not rolled up, wrinkled, ripped or shoved in a pocket, but wherever you are, it should be out for YOUR eyes to see and remember.

A note I may write to myself could be....

Wednesday, January 6, 2016

Guess WHAT?

ALL OF OUR 5B FAMILY is
HERE TODAY!  Hip-Hip HOORAY!
Today's commercial shoots went SO WELL!  I'm LOVING all of the creativity and effort I'm seeing. I'm excited to see the rest tomorrow!  The only thing I'm seeing to work on is to be LOUDER!   If you haven't done your commercial yet, be sure to practice.  If you have, don't relax completely yet.  If it wasn't loud enough, I may be asking you to record AGAIN louder!  I watched a few after school from today!  I literally L.O.L!

Reminders...  Don't forget about band on Wednesdays and Fridays.  I think a few forgot their instruments today.  Remember, those are minors when we aren't prepared for band:(

I'm loving the ideas and new expectations we are giving ourselves for the next Fun Pass Celebration.  I think being more specific and expecting each other to be thinking of OTHERS as your TEAM will be great!  We can continue our chat in the morning.  Also, we'll need to decide what our Celebration will be and how many Fun Passes will be required to meet the goal!

Also, many of you seemed interested in the zentangles or zendoodles that Mrs. Halverson showed today to demonstrate calming yourself down when you feel anxiety!  Here's a few links on "How To Zentangle for Beginners".  They are completely optional to watch!  Just wanted to share if you're interested!

Blog Proof!  I know we didn't go over blog proof from Tuesday night, so there will be something sitting at your spot for you to enjoy when you come in on Thursday morning.  Thanks for all of the book suggestions!  I've read Abduction, My Life in Dog Years, How to Steal a Dog and many of the Would You Rather? books.  So, I'm thinking I'll need to try out some of the other ones!  Thanks so much!

Blog Proof for TONIGHT!  I'll know you checked the blog if you come in and count how many Fun Passes we've collected SO FAR since before Christmas break.  They'll be laid out on the BACK coffee table.  Don't say it OUT LOUD please.  Just count them in your head.  Come whisper it to me. :o)

Thanks for the examples of perfection (muuaaw) today!  Let's have even more tomorrow!  OH, and the ROOM LOOKED AMAZING TODAY after you LEFT!!!!  So, so IMPRESSED!  Fun Pass Added!

Aidan's Back... Quinzey and Landen are Gone...

When will our whole 5B Family (we are family) be back together again?! The colds, viruses and icky-sicky germs are no longer welcomed in our home!  Not to be rude, but GET OUT!  We don't want you here!

I thought I'd see a bunch of exhausted kiddos today, but there was definitely more CHATTING than I would have thought!  I'm thinking we need to review our Cadet Pride expectations, the T.H.I.N.K. strategy, bubbles, and what we want to do for our Fun Passes again!  I'm thinking something like a SLEDDING PARTY would be so much fun!  We'll see though.
That would be worth A LOT of Fun Passes!

Don't forget to work on your commercials, bring any props or other products/toys you need for your scripts.  I'll bring in a load of Isaiah's for some rehearsals, but if you're ready to record, I'll be ready, too!

Also, after our "Speed Dating" activity with "meeting new friends" aka BOOKS,  it appears many of you found "dates" you are enjoying hanging out with.  Sawyer said he took his date home last night to meet the family!  Brian said he has a school "date" and a home "date"!  Wowza!  That's AWESOME!  Chase's date was broken, so after Dr. Sorenson fixed 'er up, Chase was ready to hang out some more!  Bree mentioned she hung out with her date through 2 FULL CHAPTERS!  Hubba-Hubba!  Just Kidding!  I'm thrilled to see everyone finding books that want to spend time with.  I'm almost done "dating" my book about a pig who writes his own diary.  It is hilarious!
However, I'm going to be looking for another "date" soon.  I'm needing some friends to suggest good ones they've hung out with....

So, for your blog proof, go on this TodaysMeet Link to suggest a good book you've "dated" before or think might be fun to date sometime that you've heard about.  It could be the one you're reading now, one you read in the past, one a teacher read to you some time, a book club book you've read, etc. Maybe you've heard others mention a book?  Anything would be helpful!  Answers like "I don't know" or "idk" will not be accepted as blog proof!  Be helpful:)

Back in Action with 5B!

Well, we proved that 2016 has started off to be a super year!  I am so glad we got to hear about each other's' winter vacations.  By about 2:45, I was starting to feel how tired I am from the transition of getting back into the swing of things.   I'm guessing the rest of you were feeling it, too, based on all of the fun it sounds like people were having over the break.  From what I remember we had students...

having cousins visit from New York,  Virginia and other places
lots of snowmobiling fun
exciting presents - iPod 6's, iPhone 6's,
special handed-down presents
hanging out with family
wrestling camps
playing ping pong (on a new table)
watching siblings hopped around from bad toes
going to grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, etc.
traveling to Minnesota and other places
getting new jammies and Cheez-Its
dreaming of horses and Mrs. Sorenson getting a baby!
hotels with friends/family for New Year's Eve
AND SO MANY MORE...

I'm pretty impressed that I remembered THAT many actually!  I told you I need to work on my short-term memory!  Maybe I'm not as bad as I thought!  Well, at least today!

But even as I write this, my eyes are heavy and I'm thinking an early bedtime for me is in the plans!

Please be sure to work on that commercial script (Wonderful Wackos and Dream Team and Joey/Elyse).  The more time you put towards  it, the better you'll feel about it!

Camden requested the Kid President video we watched today in class to be put on the blog, so here it is below if you want to share it or watch it again:  Click Here

There were SO MANY more blog checkers from last night than I expected!  I was thinking maybe 5 or so of you would do it, but there were 14-15!  Great job!  Let's see for Monday, now that we're a bit more "in the swing of things" how many are back at it!  I'll know you checked the blog when you come Tuesday morning IF you ask me for the 2016 paper we talked about on Monday.
I know this one in the photo is
 backwards, sorry!
I'll have you start on it right as you
come in, okey dokey artichokies?

Thanks for a FANTASTIC first day back and start to 2016!  The only thing bad about our day is that we started it with only 28 of our 29 students!  Feel better, Aidan!  We missed you today!

Missed You....

5B, I can not WAIT to hear about your vacations, family time, and holiday stories!  There's always so much to catch up on after a break like this!  I really did miss seeing my 5B Babies (mama, mama) for such a long time.  Don't get me wrong.... I LOVE time home with my family and all of my holiday traditions and activities, but I thought of you all so much and hoped you had a happy and relaxing break!  Let's take it EASY tomorrow (and this week) to adjust to SCHOOL MODE!  I know I'm going to struggle with it, too!

Things to LOOK forward to this week...
1)  Working on COMMERCIALS for our Products!  STEP 6 - Here it comes!  This will be AWESOME!

2)  Mrs. Suckow has a student from Luther College that will be learning about 5th graders during the month of January.  Let's show her what 5B (and our classes) are all about!

3)  You have P.E. on Monday!

4)  We also MIGHT get to meet up with our Kindergarten buddies again already!  That is not a for sure, but it's being discussed!

5)  The most important one.... SEEING OUR 5B FAMILY AGAIN... Awwww...

I'm not sure how many will check the blog tonight, so this will be a pretty special blog proof!  I'll know you took the time to check the blog IF you come in on Monday morning and (WHISPER!!!!!!! in my ear how tired you are on a scale from 1 - 10...   See below!  Choose any NUMBER you think you are for our first Monday back after break!

1 = I'm great!  Not tired at all! Raring to go!  Bring it up, baby!
2
3
4
5 = I'm fine.  I'm a bit tired but I'll be ok all day long.
6
7
8
