Thurrific Thursday! (Thanks, Kelsey!)

Wowser, 5B!
You did it!  Super improvements all week long!  I bet tomorrow will be like what Dalton S. said, a "Phenomenal Friday" or someone else mentioned, a "Funtastic Friday"!  You guys just keeping showing more and more Cadet Pride!  Hopefully you had a good time with your "Thank You Bag" today blowing bubbles, trying out your Gmail accounts, and snacking on crackers!

Tomorrow is FRIDAY! Yippee, you made it through a full week!  We have art tomorrow, so that's always a fun way to express yourself.  Last week you guys showered me with all sorts of fun signs.  Thanks again for those.  I have them hanging in the room.

I have a goofy way for you to prove you checked the blog.  Go down the right side looking through the different websites.  It's REALLY far down.  Find one that is called "Play This Dumb Game."  I guarantee this game is NOT educational, will NOT make you smarter, but WILL be FUN!  Remember, everyday needs laughter, right?!  I'll know you checked the blog if you play that dumb game, then write down your name and your highest score on a piece of paper.  You can share it with me when we sit on the floor right away in the morning after attendance, ok?

We'll try it out in the morning to see if you guys have it figured out!

Peace Out, Homeys!

Almost a Full Week?!!

5B,
Can you believe tomorrow will be a FULL WEEK of SCHOOL?  It seems like it has gone by so quickly!  Our laughing, learning and listening seem to be keeping us busy, huh?  I'll have a little something on your desk as you come in Thursday morning.  It's a way to say, "Thanks for working on your Cadet pride and making it through a week of 5th grade!"

Be sure to share some of the fun websites or activities from the blog with your families.  I'm sure it would be fun to see who is faster at the sheep game - kids or parents?!  Let me know if your family has a little competition, ok?

Today was a DEFINITE improvement from yesterday's chatting!  Excellent job!  But.....  it sounds like we still need some reminders and work when in science class, right?  So, we invented Tough Tuesdays.....  Wonderful or WOW Wednesdays.....  What will Thursday's be?  That's why I love being a teacher!  I never know what I'm gonna get each day:}

I'll know you checked the blog if you come up with a word that we can put in front of Thursday that shows we'll have a super day!  Be creative and have some fun with it, even ask your parents if they have ideas:)  Write down your idea, make sure your name is on it, and hand it to me as you come in Thursday morning.

Have a great, HOT evening.  Oh, and tomorrow is supposed to be like 98 degrees!  So be sure to be dressed for outdoor recess but cold classrooms.  Weird, huh?

Chat soon,

Tough Tuesday....

Well, 5B.  It was bound to happen.

You have been having SUCH great days with super behaviors...  You must have been tired today and needed a few more reminders, right?  I love the excitement we had with the questions in reading class and social studies.  Hopefully, you'll share those songs and chants with your parents and families tonight! I can't wait to see their reactions to what you shared!

Ok, so back to the Tough Tuesday... Well, the GREAT news is that as you left today, every single person shared a suggestion about how 5B can do things better tomorrow:)  Yippee!  You guys are soooooooo smart!  So look at the list at the bottom of this post that your classmates came up with.  I'll know you checked the blog if you notice the suggestion that was given the most!  Whisper it in my ear before you come in Wednesday morning.  Don't worry, it will be obvious which one most of the class thinks we need to work on.  It was mentioned by most of you!

I still had a fun day with everyone.  We just need to make sure that our fun, giggles, laughter and excitement does NOT get in the way of us learning something new or showing our Cadet Pride.  Ok, babycakes?!

Have a good night, and we'll catch ya on the flipside! I'm sure tomorrow will be just WONDERFUL!
~Adios,

Super Monday!

Hey, there, 5B Rock Stars! (neeleelelele)
What a great way to start the week!  I am really getting to know individuals better each time we spend time together!  I can see some excellent leaders, some comedians, some quiet listeners, and some chatter bugs (watch out for the fly swatter:).  But overall, I see LEARNERS!  I love seeing your faces when you are trying something new!

Be sure to ask your families to read those 2 sentences from reading class today!  See if they need your help or a suggestion.  I loved seeing you all put so much effort into reading.  I know we have a few students who are still working on it!  So glad you guys have such great attitudes.

Let's make Tuesday EVEN BETTER than today!  (Is that possible???  Maybe!)  Tomorrow will be your first chance to try out band class.  You'll go check out instruments towards the end of the day.  It should be fun and interesting no matter if you are thinking about band or not.

Please thank your parents for a JOB WELL DONE!  Every single family got their Parent Homework done and handed in today! That's a RECORD!  I've never had that before.  Bravo, families!  I can't wait to read them tonight to find out what perfect little angels I have in 5B with me:)

I'll know you checked the blog tonight if you write down what you think Twitter is thinking about all the crazy stuff is happening in 5B!  Put your name on the paper, and hand it to me as you come in on Tuesday morning.

See you soon,
Mrs. Sorenson

First Full Week, Coming Your Way, 5B!!!

Hey, 5B, I'm sooooooo pumped because I have 3 new followers from 5B!  Also, Rachel figured out how to post a comment back to me!  You guys really ARE Rock Stars, aren't you?!

I hope you all got some time to rest, relax and get re-energized for a FULL WEEK OF SCHOOL!  Oh, boy, it's gonna be a wee bit tiring at times, but we'll do what we can to make it exciting so you'll want to jump out of bed each morning and say, "Yeehaw, Baby!  It's another day to learn something new!"

I'll keep this first post kind of short.  Here's a little test for you.  I like to see who checks the blog.  **Don't tell ANYONE what you are supposed to do.  I really want to see who are the Rock Star blog checkers over the first weekend.  I'll have a little reward for your fantastic responsibility and trustworthiness, too!

So, if you DID check this blog, I want you to do this:
1) Meet me at the door Monday morning (Don't come in yet)
2) When you see me welcome you in, whisper in my ear, "Yep, I checked the blog this weekend.  I'm a ROCK STAR!"
3) Then come on in and have a seat at your spot to wait for Kelsey and Delaney to do attendance.

I'm so excited to start a new week with all of you!  I shared someone's photo of their feet.  Can you figure out whose it is??  I think I know, but not sure.

Later Gators!

Welcome to the 5B Blog!

Hey there, my new 5B Rock Stars!

Wow, I can't believe it's the first day of school, can you?  This is crazy.  It seems like summer just started, and boy, it's hot outside still!

Checking our class blog is a great way to remind yourself of things that happened during the day, let your parents know what goes on at school, review things we've been studying, and of course, there are some just weird, funny activities that you might enjoy!

I hope you are having a great first day of 5th grade.  You are showing me what excellent role models you will be for the rest of the elementary, and I LOVE getting to know each of you!

So let's check out this blog, shall we??

Peace Out,
Mrs. Sorenson
