The Chatty Bug is in the Air.....

Hey, 5B,
I just wanted to write to remind you how respectful and fantastic you've been. This year is probably the BEST start to any year a 5B class has ever had. I would love for you to stay with this fabulous title!

I have a little concern though... Have you noticed a little bit more chatting from your chums lately? Have noticed some people forget to stop chatting when we get in line? Have you noticed it takes us a wee bit longer to get attendance and planner done? If you answered "yes" to these questions, than please help us out by reminding our chums to show respect because we are a TEAM (it says so in our Respect Pledge). If you answered "no" to these questions, YOU may be the one that is being too chatty... So, let's see what we can do about that.

We have some competition coming our way.... I was talking with the 3rd grade teachers after school today and found out they are ON A MISSION to BEAT 5th GRADE with BLUE SLIPS!!!!!!!! If we continue with our days the way we started the year, I don't think we have too much to worry about. But.... if this chatty bug hangs around much longer, I'm afraid we're doomed to a loss against the 3rd graders. So, think about it... What should we do?

I'll know you checked the blog if you write down how many times you see any form of the word "chatting" in this blog. This will hopefully remind us what might be something we could/should work on for the rest of the week.

See you soon...

Hanging with Our Chums Today...

What a silly, goofy day for 5B today??!! We started off with the giggles and just plain old weird! Maybe it was the rainy weather. I don't know, but we definitely had some laughs today! Good, fun memories for our 5B time together.

I'll keep it short and sweet...
Please remember to hand in your G-mail slips. Make sure your parents mark the option your family chooses. Tomorrow is library, so if you books to return, bring them please.

To prove you checked the blog tonight, go a LONG way down the right side of the blog and click on the link that says "Play this dumb game." Try it out. You'll have to play with it a bit to figure out what to do. Write down or just remember your highest score after playing it for a few times. I'll show it to the class. Sadly, this game has no educational value. It's just dumb but fun...and addicting. I have a hard time stopping!

See you in the morning. Let's have another PERFECT start to the day tomorrow like we did today!

Ready for Another Full Week?

Hey, there, my little 5B Angels (ding, awhhhh...),
I hope you had a good weekend. I enjoyed myself, but boy, was I tired on Saturday morning! We must have worked too hard our first full week of school, right! Well, by the number of blue slips that 5th grade earned, I'd say that you've been definitely thinking about how to act and doing a great job of it!

Here are a couple of reminders for this week...
1) Bring Book Bins back to school Monday. Make sure there are books in them!
2) Kidspiration projects due Wednesday, so work, work, work!
3) Green G-mail note should be signed and returned this week.
4) Keep up the AWESOME behaviors! Let's get another 200!

I'll know you checked the blog over the weekend if you check out the strange picture I took of myself. Then, when I see you on Monday morning AS YOU ARE WALKING in the classroom, show me the same thing with YOUR FACE.
I'll have a little something for you for checking the blog!

See you soon,
Mrs. Sorenson

What a DAY!!!

5B,
Make sure to share with your families about 225 blue slips for the 5th grade!!! (and that's only from our classroom!!!!) That definitely shows some MAJOR respect, responsibility, caring and trust from our 5B Angels (ding, awhhhh)! Let's keep it up! Hopefully, you've also shared with your families the Interlude Dance!! We have some pretty good dancers in class. Are you sure you don't want to go out for Just for Kix??????

I'll keep it short today. Here are a few reminders for you...
Bring a folder for music class tomorrow (Thursday)
Work on memorizing the RESPECT Pledge made by the class

I'll know you checked the blog if you look on the RIGHT side of the blog. Go down the list of websites until you see what called PVC Pipes Music. Watch it and tell me what you think of it when you come to school tomorrow. I'll share it with the whole class again because I think this guy is SO AMAZING!!!

See you Thursday!

5B Continues to Amaze Me!!!!!!

OMG!!
I can't get over how quickly we can move through directions and activities with the perfect examples of listening, respect and caring we have in our 5B Family! Wowser!! I am enjoying reading the Parent Homework that has been turned in so far. Kids, remember, your parents' homework is due tomorrow (Wednesday). Be a good role model, and remind them about this, will ya?? It sounds like we have a class full of helpful, caring, energetic students who like activities from piano to farming to sports and everything in between! I can't wait to chat more about this with all the kids.

5B, I really have to make sure you know how IMPRESSED I am with your behaviors this week and last. I think we probably have 100 tickets in 5B's bucket alone! We'll have to have someone count them tomorrow to see how many we have.

I'll know you checked the blog if you do this for me. Go back through this entire message and find all of the colored letters. They spell out a message. Write it in your planner and show me AS YOU WALK IN THE ROOM on Wednesday. I can't wait to see who figures it out!

First Chance to Check the 5B Blog!

Hello there my 5B Angels (ding, ahhhh),
I hope you had a good first 2 days of 5th grade. I know I am definitely enjoying getting to know you, your personalities and seeing your smiles. Hopefully, you shared some of our activities we did with your families (like Big Booty, Flee Fly, 5B Angels, and OKkkkkkkay). Letting your family know what goes on in class is like having them here with us so they don't feel left out!

I wanted to remind you to give your parents their homework. You can bring it back for them anytime but by Wednesday for sure. Also, we forgot to right down in our planners about needing a folder for music class. So, please tell your families about this. You'll need it for this Thursday. On Friday, we had EVERYONE remember their Take Home folder. That is fantastic. Let's see if we can make that happen every day!

I'll know you checked the blog this weekend if you write down a favorite song that you like in your planner at the top of Monday, August 22. Have it out on your desk in the morning. I will check it after our attendance and pledge is done. I will be adding that song to my Music Playlist so we can listen to it in class once in awhile. Make sure the song is appropriate for school though.

I am SOOOOO impressed with our 5B class. I've bragged about you to everyone! Let's keep it up. Have a good Sunday, and I'll see your bright and early on Monday morning!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Sorenson

A New Group of 5B Students is Here!!!

Hello there, my 5B Nerds,
This is the 5B Blog. This is something I'm pretty nerdy at - doing things with the computer. So, your nerdy teacher is going to show you how this works. If you like working on the computer, seeing funny videos or cool, new things out there in the world, I think you really enjoy using the 5B Blog!

Thursday was an absolutely fantastic day! I enjoyed tons of RESPECT, great listening and laughter we had. I can't wait for more!

Your Nerdy 5B Teacher,
Mrs. Sorenson
